The D-ring joins the noseband and cheek pieces to sit smoothly against the horse. This drop noseband is worn lower on the horse's nose than other bridles, sitting below the bit. This keeps the horse's mouth closed, making this bridle ideal for young horses who are learning to accept the bit.
